FAQs
LANDLORDS
How do I transfer my property to Rentout if it is currently being managed by another agent?
The process to switch to us is quite simple. We can examine your current contract with your existing property manager so that we can work out an exit strategy for you. We can directly communicate with your current property manager for a smooth transition.
Why do I need a rental property manager?
With us managing your rental property, you will have enough time for other engagements. You may be able to utilise your time more productively for work, business, or planning investment strategies. Or in a relaxed environment in your evenings, weekends, or holidays. Rather than dealing with tenancy matters, payments, repairs, maintenance, viewings, letting processes, our services will be useful to you and take away the stress. We make sure that your rent is paid on time and your property is cared for. This would minimise your risk and give you a profitable investment.
Some tips on holding a rental property:
- Use feedback from your tenants to see which improvements you could do to make them happy. Improvements generate better returns over a period and earn you higher ongoing rent and retain best value of the property.
- Get quotes for maintenance work and know what you are spending your money on. How necessary is the expenditure? Will it generate a higher rent? Is it needed for the safety of tenants?
- Consider relevant health and safety issues and related risks and liabilities. For example, ask any workers on your property to use safety equipment.
- Use landlord logins and keep a track of your accounts.

TENANTS
Am I liable for my flatmates?
As per a tenancy agreement, regardless of the relationship with other tenants, you share responsibility for all costs such as any unpaid rent or damages.
Can the Landlord sell the property even if I am under a fixed contract?
A landlord can advertise to sell the property regardless of the term. However, you can remain in the home for the duration of the term. The term can however be extended with the landlord’s approval.
